Personally, I think the form is a much better long term solution, but that 
the text reference instead of a hot link is a good interim solution.

Henry, put it this way, I work for an educational institution, and here,
the prime law of office politics is:

  He who suggests, implements!

So I suspect you tagged yourself here. Actually, I rather liked your form
anyway. It was functional, simple, and understandable.
