Just to be sure, you should be using the latest develpment code which
can be obtained at:
        http://144.35.10.96/lynx/current/

A patch to that makefile was posted recently, and it has been applied to the
latest develpment code according to the 10/22 entry of:
        http://144.35.10.96/lynx/current/CHANGES.new

Two people who have _successfully_ compiled for 386DOS contributed their
experiences to Section V. "Compile instructions -- 386 DOS" of the
INSTALLATION file _in the latest distribution_ (or still at "http://
163.51.110.11/lynxdev/INSTALLATION.gz").  If you are indeed using the
latest develpment code, lynx2.7.1ac-0.87 or later, then please bear with
us until we iron out the problem.
