LYNX-DEV NEWS problem after VMS upgrade

Hello 

Saturday we upgraded from Alpha OpenVMS 6.2 to 7.1 and we are using 
LYNX-2-7-1 with fotemods built with the Socketshr TCP/IP. 

We were able to read and post to NEWS before the upgrade to VMS 7.1 
but now we get the error below. It just spits up everywhere and exits.

I tried rebulding lynx after the upgrade but still got the same result.
Everything else seems to be the same its just accessing NEWS.

Anyone have any clues??
