Actually, I wouldn't make such assumptions about what other people may or
may not have on their machines as making such assumptions can get you into
trouble.

Don't sleep too many nights on it.  I Believe that Jeff's wording is quite
adequate as it explains the problem quite well and gives the
reader/compiler suggestions to help him/her avoid it.  Such a "heavy"
explaination is very helpful especially to first-time compilers.
