"screen" adds a complication, since it's doing terminal emulation.

I noticed yesterday that "screen", run from a SunOS session doesn't
show highlighting when I'm rsh'd to a Solaris 2.6 box (and, yes, my
terminfo description is correct ;-).  "screen" doesn't use curses, from
what I remember, just termcap/terminfo.
