I'll test this tomorrow, but suspect that it is the same behavior regardless 
of the reason for no connection.  I don't think there is anything you
could do to fix the skeleton null driver, but using -localhost sounds like a 
very
satisfactory way to deal with it.  Since I'm running it from a batch file 
anyway, it can
be easily fixed in there.
