exactly: nail well hit on head!
`-show_cursor' really means `-hide cursor'!!

no, people shouldn't have to study the fine print in the instructions
to find out that Lynx does something utterly counter-intuitive.
i fully hear TD's point that it may be too complex to change before 2-8,
but it really must be changed asap ("p" emphatic);
at the minimum, the switch should be changed to `-toggle_cursor'.
