Using an ftp proxy is a good idea, but using an arbitrary one, which is
potentially half way across the world, is a bad thing. Many corporate
sites run their own proxy. Most ISPs do. Generally they cache as
well as proxy. Used sensibly they can considerably improve response time
and reduce expensive tran-oceanic traffic. Used badly they can result in
a 20,000 mile detour on the way to your ISP's ftp site.

Note both parties here are in Europe, where it is particularly important
to use sensible caching proxies, as transatlantic bandwidth is expensive,
even if end users only see that expense in the general monthly fee from
their ISP, not itemised.

Note, I've modified the proxy address, however there is a significant
chance that it will work; if it does, it is probably the very best
proxy for you to use.
