Re: LYNX-DEV 2-8 help: Help!

well, now i've reached the following sticking-point:

 lynx_cfg.h  for 2-8 has the same definition as  userdefs.h  for 2-7:
LYNX_CFG_FILE "~/lynx28/lynx2-8/lynx.cfg"  [with  8  for  7 ];

 lynx.cfg  for 2-8 has the same definition as 2-7:
HELPFILE:file://localhost/homes/purslow/lynx28/lynx2-8/[continued]
lynx_help/lynx_help_main.html  [one line; with  8  for  7 ].

when i  make  2-8 & use it with the above,
it responds to  h  with the out-of-date files i mentioned earlier today,
even tho' the correct 2-8 help files are in the subdirectory given above;
it also fails to give the simple listing in response to  g . ,
even tho' i configured with  --disable-dired --disable-long-list ;
2-7 gets both of these right, using the old Makefile method.

so something does seem to be wrong with 2-8 in these  2  respects.
