About the error messages dissappearing so quickly -- yeah
that should be fixed via a sleep or something, or maybe appended
to a lynx-errors file that's open while lynx runs --
but here's a trick to grab those messages -- at least if you
are using unix, or maybe just a sun unix:

do "script t.script", which opens a new shell, with all the output
duped-or something to t.script.

run lynx in that environment; then, exit that shell,
and suck t.script into VI or something (maybe emacs or VIM,
which allow long long lines).
