Michael -- is there any way you can delay your
email responses for 5 minutes, before you compose them,
or at least to force yourself to review it five minutes
later, before actually sending them?

I've seen suggestions like "when you get angry
about a letter, write a response, a long one --
then throw both into the wastebasket".

This instant-response aspect of email, "just hit
'r' and start typing", doesn't make for a good working
environment, inherently adds a level of perceived
permanent anger.  We need some of that old-fashioned
delay back into process, where you had to think about
it a bit before replying, and that only after several
drafts of a hand-written letter.

This email-way-of-life isn't a total blessing.
