there was a big discussion of this a few months ago
& the reason nothing got done was the usual security problems
around anonymous users, who might somehow use an editor to attack people;
there was apparently a different problem
about having one device for them & another for the rest of us.

my own very personal reaction to anonymous-user threats is always to wonder
whether it is fair on the rest of us to have to accommodate problems
caused by people who could be so utterly ungrateful
as to abuse free access to the Internet in that way:
even the Last Chance Hostel doesn't admit known pyromaniacs.
