I would suggest that lynx.cfg be a little clearer on the subject of
the no_proxy value. I spent 20 minutes looking through various lynx
web sites, and finally downloaded the source, to determine how to
specify an entire domain to not be proxied.

Yes, it's quite obvious, but the comments in the lynx.cfg file are
of no help. I quote:

# The no_proxy variable can be a comma-separated list of hosts which should
# not be proxied, or an asterisk to override all proxy variables.
