I suspect that the problem is the operating system not reporting the
files as actually ending with ".". Try with filenames "mime_types" and
"mailcap". A trace would show what is happening, but I am not sure that
trace is working in Win32. If it is, run "lynx -trace" and look in the
Lynx.trace file for a line starting:
HTLoadExtensionsConfigFile:
This should give you an idea of what lynx is trying to do.
