Not a reply to the original question, but one "trick" that can be useful
in such situations is to have two or more lynx.cfg files (each with
unique name of course) which serve different purposes, and then point
lynx (also perhaps aliased to unique names) to one or the other of
them at start up using the -cfg command line switch (or resetting the
environment variable, LYNX_CFG).
