for slang and ncurses (for either, actually, only versions after the end
of 1995), if you have this enabled, and your terminal supports the
"default color" capability (e.g., SGR 39 and 49), then you will get
lynx painting colored text on top of the original background.

for instance, on some displays I find black text on a white background
more readable than the white/black standard.
