I didn't see that in Klaus' initial set of diffs (perhaps he chopped those

worse than useless - some of the color transitions end up missing, so
you'll see (when testing, for example, in dired mode) that the screen
will get repainted with no colors, but as you move the cursor around
the current line will leave a trail of corrected color.

(I spent some time looking at this, but didn't see a good place to fix it).
