Translators may not easily break a program, currently.  For exemple, formats
are checked for valid correspondence at PO file compilation.  The problem is
that if the translators do not follow your advice, as it happens, nothing
will tell them, and they may unexpectedly change the program behaviour.
This may be very inconvenient when the Y/N is to confirm dangerous actions.

I still think we are not mature enough to manage such things safely.
Users are not always fully aware of the setting of LANG or LANGUAGE, it
adds a bit of unpredictibility to such user inputs.
