to follow up on what Walter Orlik said:

This may be a problem with the script that has been used in
lynx.cfg to define this download option.
Search for "download" and for "lynx.cfg" in
http://www.access.digex.net/~asgilman/lynx/FAQ/
for some notes that are pertinent if this is the problem.
