Just for the information of all: Here in Arizona, lynx is used by the
Phoenix library to access magazine and newspaper indices and articles
using a site called proquest. Anyone accessing these articles on the
Phoenix dial-up is using Lynx, whether they know it or not.
Also, the AzTeC Free-Net (an independent Free-Net which is independent of
Arizona State University, but is maintained, partially funded, and
run by ASU) uses Lynx as its only browser, and 16,000 people throughout
the state are active users.
Both systems use 2.7b.
As a member of AzTeC's Board of Directors, I can assure you
that our users, for the most part, seem quite happy with the flexibility
and
functionality of lynx. (Many prefer to use it on some websites, for
faster loading and easier access than graphic browsers.)
So the great work of lynx developers is appreciated!
