lynx-dev mail support of IMAP

Hello,

  A question.. A simple one I guess. Is it possible to enable lynx to
check for new email through an IMAP connection?. What I mean is that Lynx
supports this feature (check for new e-mail) but it seems to be that it
checks for e-mail in the same machine that one is working, and that is not
useful to me. Is it there any way to do this ?
