lynx-dev FTP with space in userid

Hi, All, 
Simple question, but no success finding the answer, although I've 
come close in Al Gilman's faq files. 
I use an FTP site where my userid is my name--and there's a space between 
first and last name. 
Any way to make this work in lynx? 
Space, comma, period, that sort of thing all doesn't do it. 
Thanks for any suggestions, and sorry to bother this list with something 
so elementary.--Rick
