I don't have a problem using vt220 emulation.
Others have complained about links being highlighted.
If this is what you are getting and can't fix it,
mou might try running
lynx -show_cursor
This toggles whether the cursor is placed at the current
link or at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Of course, upgrading is always a good idea...
