that's precisely what i always do on these occasions:
it still takes maybe  60 min  careful work
to check each change & make sure i'm not making a mistake;
esp this time, someone has gone thro' & made a lot of itsy wording changes
-- i sent  1  to lynx-dev which was just plain wrong:
there was also a case of  it's  as possessive pronoun --
which (now i know) i will delete from the  diff  file before starting.

but might there not be changes in  userdefs.h  between 281r1/282d17
which are material?  there certainly are in  lynx.cfg ;
at least for all i know ... 

i installed Screen a few months ago
& it didn't require anyway near as much effort,
maybe because it's based in Germany, legendary for efficiency.

anyway, (big smiles) & i'll report later today.
