lynx-dev Piping Web pages into files

lynx-dev,

Is Lynx truely a command line browser?  Will it take you back to the unix
command prompt after if downloads a page?  Or, is it a character cell app?
        
Is it possble to fire off an instance of Lynx at the command line
while opening a remote file....  and being able to pipe the output to a local
file?
