lynx-dev Weirdness with ncurses revs

Tom -

For some reason, two attempts to email the attached to you at clark.net
have bounced back to me (bounce headers attached below). BTW, traceroute
has no problem reaching you, so the problem may be at your end.

This is WRT ncurses, not lynx:

Hi Tom -

I just decided to update my ncurses 4.2 libs, and noticed something
weird with the patchlevel numbering in your ftp dir.

The latest ncurses-4.2-yymmdd.patch.gz file is for 990417, but there
is a more recent shellscript patch of patch-4.2-990424.sh (without a
corresponding *.patch.gz file).

Anyway, thinking that the more recent *.sh patch must have some update
stuff in it that couldn't be taken care of with a *.patch.gz file, I
grabbed the *.sh file, and a fresh, virgin copy of the 4.2 ncurses
distribution.

After applying the *.sh file though, I see that the most recent entry
in the NEWS file is for 990417.

So ... either the *.sh file is misnumbered (and should also be 990417),
of the NEWS entry for the 990424 update seems to have gotten "lost".

I suppose it's not a biggie, but thought I'd mention it, just the same.

Later ...

/kim
