Actually, what he wants (and what I would use if it were available)
is "keyboard navigation" as in GUIs.. (Such as in Finder windows on the
Mac and GS).  Arrow keys move around in the direction of the arrow you're
pushing.

This may not actually work well in practice, but it would be interesting to
play with.
