You need at least version 2.8.1, but should get 2.8.2 or
2.8.3dev.1 from

       <http://sol.slcc.edu/lynx/release/>
or     <http://sol.slcc.edu/lynx/current/>

for persistent cookies.  The code for persistent cookies is
configured in by default in the latest version, but use of
it still has to be enabled in the lynx.cfg file.
