Yes, but there's such a long list of symbols set by configure that
it seems pointless to list them all here.  They are (or should be)
all listed somewhere else already (INSTALLATION?).  But if
INSTALLATION is the canonical place for this, an explicit pointer
to that file in README.defines would be in order.  (And if not,
maybe a pointer to config.hin, although that doesn't really give
a clue what all the stuff is *for*).

Just my opinion - if someone volunteers to maintain a comprehensive
list in README.defines, all the better.  But if not updated it would
soon be out of synch with reality.
