SSL is the protocol (Netscape's Secure Sockets Layer); the library he'd
most likely use would be SSLeay, but US users would need a third library,
RSAREF for non-commercial use, or, the non-free of charge, BSAFE for
commercial use.  I've also seen references to OpenSSL, which may or may
not be the same as SSLeay.

I believe Japan has also started enforcing software patents, although
I'm not sure whether the RSA patent is valid there.
