Ummm.  The last time I saw this FAQ, the processor was PostScript, not
Lynx.  Same question: ("How can I pass escape sequences, unmodified by
PostScript, to my HP printer.")  The answer is, mostly, "Don't do
that!"  If "cat" works for you, "cat", not "lynx" is what you need.
(A different breed of cat?  :-)

Workarounds:

o Select d(ownload), then "pipe to command"; "cat"

o Define a Content-type for the extension of these files in "mime.types",
  then define "cat" as the viewer for this Content-type in .mailcap or
  in lynx.cfg
