1. That's why there are built-in defaults, those should work for most
   folks even if their termcap/terminfo descriptions are slightly wrong.

2. But you can. :)
   If you can show that, with a correctly setup terminfo description,
   and no ~/.lynx-keymaps tricks, lynx still gets some keys wrong,
   then there is a problem to fix.
   (Something could have happend in the 2.8.3dev.4 / 2.8.3dev.5 changes
   to cause this, I assume you are using slang here).
