My understanding is that sendmail.exe is not open source and the latest
versions, if there are any, are not freeware.  Blat is both open source
and freeware.  For that reason, the Windows world would prefer blat, I
should think.

Nevertheless, it is a _preference_, and probably blat should be under
SH_EX, but certainly the ifdefing should be consistent throughout the
code set as Leonid says.
