You remove a key lines:
I ask you about LYNXCFG:/ output before and after "reload";
press '!' to exit to shell and check NNTPSERVER environment
with 'set' command before and after "reload".

If NNTPSERVER changed in the environment but your news* behaviour
is not changed - this is not lynx problem.
