lynx-dev lynx and ssl, i know we have been through this but....

hi all,
i know that if you want a copy of lynx compiled with ssl you must do it
yourself.  I for one might pay someone to do it for me.  still, i do not
understand why lynx is restircted.  if i understood previous explanations,
it is because the program is given away.  however, one can download internet
explorer and netscope navigator for free as well.  why is lynx treated
differently, if indeed the price factor is the only issue?  after all even
some government agencies use secured access, and that cuts me off from
information others can have just because i use lynx.
