You need to have BOTH pseudo-alts and verbose images turned off for
what you want. It seems that you still have verbose images turned on,
probably in your .lynxrc file, which overrides lynx.cfg. Either edit
.lynxrc or go to the option page, set "show images" to "ignore", and
save the settings to your .lynxrc file.

To see how this works, just play with the "*" and "[" keys while
viewing your URL.
