In the text of the RFC that you quote I do not see anywhere that a client
be obligated to respect the wish of the From: field, it does not say that
it can not be rewritten, and the fact that in our case be set by the
Sender is as legal as if it were set by the person in the From: field.

I do not see any contradiction with the standards. Maybe what you want to
propose is that a new field be added to the headers that clients should
understand and the if a reply-to is set by the from: then this field acts
as a Cc: field, but for reply. In that case this is not the forum to hold
this discussion.
