Even more ironic, IBM's own CP/67 operating system of a few years earlier
was VM based. The tout is to be considered less of new technology than of
IBM's marketing decision to make it strategic in the VS/1 and VS/2 operating
systems in contrast to CP/67's position as a niche market product.
