Perhaps someone can help me with the following:
I presently use lynx 2.7.1 (unix) and can no longer login to the L.A.
Times as a registered user:
What I can see is:
getting
https://www.latimes.com/cgi-bin/https-login?Tag=/&URI=/cgi-bin/hunter.
Alert! This client does not contain support for HTTPS URLs
The support people at the L.A. Times tell me that lynx does not support
secure pages and that I need to use Netscape or I.E., which I can't do,
nor do I want to.
My question is: if I have my provider upgrade to 2.8.2 or 2.8.3, will I
be able to do the secure login? Will I need to customize the installation
in order to do so? It's kind of a hassle to get my provider to upgrade as
they basically regard stuff like lynx as archaic and I am basically
grateful just to be able to use it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
