Last time I checked, IE at least didn't work over a telnet link very good.
That's what I have to use.  I don't know what JAWS is (but then, I'm
not working as a blind user - just one that feels blind sometimes
thanks to the increasing number of sites that are requiring techs not easily
supported under Lynx ... Java/Javascript/flash/directory/quicktime/etc.).
