I don't think so - perhaps a porting problem with rand48, etc., since
that was the last stuff I hit in that area.  I'm able to connect to
the handful of https pages that I needed to.  So either there's some
dependency on the URL, or a problem in the configuration.  (I'm
connecting from Linux, normally).
