This appears to be DOS-to-UNIX style newline conversion.

What system is your server running on?

What system is Lynx running on?  (I assume they're not the same,
else you'd just read the MP3 directly with WarpAmp)

I suspect there's a configuration problem at the server.  If
there weren't, you wouldn't need the SUFFIX statements in
lynx.cfg because the server would supply the information in
Content-type: according to what it finds in its mime.types file.
