If you go to http://www.nytimes.com, you'll discover that logging
in with your userid and password causes the password to disappear
when you move from the Password: entry to "Sign In".  Since this
doesn't happen on previous versions of the New York Times web
site, and since two versions of lynx cause the same effect, but
Internet Explorer does not, I assume there is a subtle change in
the NY Times web page markup that causes this with lynx.
