It seems something goes wrong with the CHANGES file:
lynx2.8.4rel.1a.patch contains the changelog entry for 2.8.5dev.1 and
lynx2.8.4rel.1b.patch contains the changelog entries for 2.8.5dev.2 and
2.8.5dev.3 - but not the changelog entries for lynx2.8.4rel.1a and
lynx2.8.4rel.1b.
