The personal mail address is needed for copy-self when sending mail, even when you do not wish to disclose it in anonymous FTP. There should be separate controls for more different cases where your email address is used. Having to flip into O)ptions to change your email of record (across all potential uses by the program) whenever you happen to want to do an anonymous FTP is not usable. Real users will never do it.
I, too, think this is the best solution. Example: General Preferences Personal mail address : address@hidden Headers Transferred to Remote Servers FTP mail address : address@hidden -Walter who uses multiple email addresses (doesn't almost everyone now?) ; To UNSUBSCRIBE: Send "unsubscribe lynx-dev" to address@hidden
