Giuliano, it would work best if you would join the Italian translation
team, fetch the archive provided by Jim, and send the mentioned it.po to
address@hidden with the subject line

    TP-Robot lynx-2.8.4.pre2.it.po

The robot will merge the old file with the recent source file and you
can fetch the merged one again to finish the translation work.

Maybe, Marco (the Italian team coordinator) will have the time to
perform this steps for you?

Yes.  Especially you are right to try to contact the previous
