If you are a blind Lynx user, you have an excellent case for writing
to the owner of the web site and demanding that they get rid of the
JavaScript before they get sued under the disabilities discrimination
laws...

Yeah I know in practice this won't make a big difference to the web,
but I do find the preponderance of unnecessary JavaScript rather
irritating.  However, I do still do most of my browsing with JavaScript
firmly switched off.

(In my opinion, about 80% of the JavaScript out there is totally
unnecessary, and 19 of the remaining 20% is due to lazy programming.)
