If you're on a Mac, another one to use is the iCab browser.
(www.icab.de)
It has a built in html checker, and you should make iCab "smile" on
your page. (It shows an icon in a browser window that smiles if it's
good html.)
There's also an error window that shows specifically what errors there are
in the html.
