lynx-dev Multilingual domain names ?

I'm in Brazil and just read the following:

http://www.registrobrasil.com/br/index_multilingual.jsp

"For the domains .com .org .net, now it's possible to register
names with the characters: ã õ ç á é o etc !"

"A multilingual domain, or a domain that contains special
characters, is one thet contains characters from a
language other than English (like for example ~, ç, and
accents)."

...

"The registration of multilingual domains can be made, but its
functioning is still being tested. That means such domains are
still not operational, and there are no guarantees that will
ever happen."

Anyway, Lynx returns the following:

http://www.ação.com/ -> Invalid hostname www.ação.com
www.ação.com -> Badly formed address www.ação.com

Mozilla eats all CPU.
