I generally configure with nsl-fork, which lets me quit early by pressing 'z'.

Though lynx includes a SIGINT handler - I haven't encountered this problem
with ^C - am not sure whether it's lynx, the screen library or the underlying
system.

probably not - we haven't changed the signal-handling code for some time.
